The sudden change to work from home for the millions of people affected by the COVID-19 epidemic has caused a great deal of anxiety and stress. Take a break.
Many of us would love to spend a relaxing day with family or friends camping in the forest or by the river.
The healing power of nature can lift the burden off your shoulders and restore you to a Zen-like state of mind.
We urbanites are intimidated by the idea of a retreat in nature. We are spoilt with daily showers and clean sheets. Our hands are washed every hour. We would surely have to give up all these things when we were in the middle of nowhere.
There are some workarounds you can use. This article will show you what to keep in mind and have handy when going off the beaten path!
You can be your best friend with Wet Wipes.
You may not have access to running water depending on where you choose to camp (or it could be polluted). It is important to have a few gallons of water packed before you leave, but it’s more important that you use them for drinking and eating.
It is best to have a large supply of wet wipes on hand. The majority of wet wipes on the market are antibacterial and can be used to clean your hands after a hard day. Some are only meant for use on hard surfaces and are not suitable to be used directly on the skin.
If you’re used to flushing water down the toilet after using number 2, DUDE is an excellent alternative. It won’t cause septic tank clogging.
Wet wipes, however, are not biodegradable and must be disposed of responsibly. If you don’t have access to garbage bins, take them home.
Pack the Right Clothes
Cotton tees are perfect for Netflix at home. If you are going to be out in the hot, muggy weather of summer, then you should wear something more suitable for sports.
Fabrics such as polyester and nylon are sweat-wicking. This means that they draw away sweat from your skin and keep you dry. These fabrics also have many ventilation holes, which keep you feeling cool.
After a quick wash, these materials will dry quickly and won’t smell as much as cotton.
You’ll also be on your feet all day, so get socks with sweat-wicking properties. Cotton socks can cause blisters because cotton socks exacerbate moisture and friction. A moist and dark area is a perfect environment for bacteria to thrive.
The Rinse Free Facial Cleanser and Body Wash
The face feels fresh in the morning. We are able to splash cold water on our faces at home. However, when we travel far from civilization, this may not be possible.
You could also consider packing a facial cleanser that does not require rinsing.

You can save a lot of money by using less water.
Start with clean hands.
If possible, I would try to find a shower. For those who can’t shower, I also recommend purchasing a body wash that doesn’t require rinsing. They are used by travelers and bedridden patients in the healthcare industry who need a daily bath.
It should also work for you!
Foot Scrub
Don’t undervalue the importance of having clean, fresh feet. You’re probably on your feet for long periods if you’re exploring the trails.
In this sweaty environment, bacteria grow like mushrooms and make your feet smell bad. They feed off the dead skin cells and oil that accumulates over time.
Although antibacterial socks can help, a good scrub is the best solution to this problem. You’re basically scraping away the source of their food.
Simplify Laundry
You can do your laundry while you are away if you don’t want to carry around a whole week’s worth.
All you need is a trash bag, water, and soap or detergent (get the environmentally-friendly option).
Throw your dirty clothes into the machine, shake it violently as if you were using a washing machine, and voilà! The clean clothes are now left to dry. Synthetic fabrics dry very quickly.
